ABOUT FRED LESSANS Born into a Jewish family, Fred Lessans became a believer in Jesus (Yeshua) at the age of nineteen. In the early 70’s Fred co-founded a community of people from a variety of religious backgrounds who together sought to live out the prayer of Jesus, that “they all may be one that the world may believe” (John 17:21). Over the next twenty years, the community grew to over 850 men, women and children and served to bring spiritual renewal to individuals and congregations alike. September 12, 2021 Message: Yom Kippur; The Day of Atonement Scott Brown, National Director, Celebrate Messiah New Zealand ABOUT SCOTT BROWN Scott Brown, a Jewish believer in Jesus, has been sharing the Good News of the Messiah with Jewish people since coming to faith in 1981. Raised in a traditional Jewish home, Scott began his spiritual journey by moving into the bush and living a solitary life. It was there that a co-worker gave Scott a pocket New Testament. That little Bible launched a crisis of faith which led to Scott’s salvation seven years later. Scott entered full-time missionary service with Chosen People Ministries in 1988 and planted Son of David Congregation (Wheaton, Maryland), which later birthed another Messianic congregation – Sar Shalom Fellowship. After 19 fruitful years of pastoral leadership at SODC, Scott, along with his wife Marjorie and four of their seven children, moved to New Zealand where Scott has been serving as National Director of Celebrate Messiah New Zealand.
